Getting a manicure doesn’t sound very
masculine, but polished men throughout every era have paid special attention
to their hands. People (especially women) notice your hands, and it’s
something you shouldn’t overlook.
Now, we’re not saying that you need
glossy, shiny nails, but you should definitely keep them from getting too
long and gnarly lookin’. If you can find a nice men’s grooming barbershop or
spa you can get it done there. We don’t recommend going to a woman’s salon,
however, unless you plan on going to a monster truck rally afterwards to
restore some of your manhood.
We know that most of you are going to
take care of this at home. So here are some tips for ya’.
1. Use a metal file to get that grit out
from underneath the nail.
2. Starting in the middle and rounding
off the sides, trim the nails with a clipper. Leave a thin white strip at
the end. You may want to soak your hands in warm water for a few minutes to
soften up the nails.
3. Smooth the edges by filing in one
direction, not back and forth.
4. The white stuff at the bottom of your
nail is the cuticle. Gentle push these back. Never cut them.
5. DON’T put any polish on them. You’re
still a man.
6. Massage in some hand cream such as
